Superseded Parts
Over the past 15 years microcontroller technology has constantly improved, and so some of the earlier PICAXE chips have been replaced by newer, more powerful devices.
The following table shows which older chips have been superseded and the recommended replacement. Any board designed for use with the older part can be used with the new part.
The ‘advanced technical’ datasheet link below is for users who want to know the advanced operating characteristics of the base PIC microcontroller. This information is not required for normal PICAXE use - see the PICAXE manuals instead.
