Description

This is a design that uses a 14M2, LCD display, AC power-pack and little else to display the load on the entire National Grid at any time simply by plugging it into any available socket. The Voltage and Frequency are displayed numerically with the deviation from the nominal supply frequency being display on a bargraph centred at 50Hz. The resolution of the display is 10mHz (0.01Hz) with each bargraph segment representing 25mHz. The unit automatically detects 50Hz or 60Hz supply frequencies, the voltage display can be set for 240V, 220V or 120V nominal supplies by linking pins of the 14M2 to ground (the PCB has a number of solder links to enable this).
